You can get to the Garden of Lights both by public transportation and by car. For those traveling with children, a car will certainly be a more convenient form of transportation. Usually you will always find a parking spot in the vicinity of the Zoo, even though it is often very crowded. Across the street, in front of the main gate to the Zoo, there is a large parking lot. You can also park your car on Stanislaw Wyspianski Street along the Oder River and then walk around 10 minutes. Along the way, we encourage you to visit the Słodki Chłopak café, where you will find delicious cakes, hot chocolate and many more sweets to warm you up during the winter season. Garden of Lights can also be reached by tram lines No. 1, 2, 4, 10 and 16. You should get off at the Centennial Hall stop. You can also take buses No. 145 and 146 to the Centennial Hall stop. The entrance to Garden of Lights is located at the intersection of Wajda, Wroblewskiego and Wystawowa Streets, near the 'Hala Stulecia' bus stop. Remember that it's not the main entrance to the Zoo, however, it is very easy to find your way to Garden of Lights, as illuminated arrows lead to it! As we mentioned, there are arrows leading to Garden of Lights, so you'll easily find the entrance gate! Tickets can be purchased online or on the spot. You will find the tickets online at: https://bilety.gardenoflights.com/. Interestingly, by going to the exhibition organizer's home page, you can also buy tickets to other light exhibitions in other cities as well. We bought tickets to the Wroclaw Garden of Lights right at the entrance. Everything was done very smoothly and we could immediately immerse ourselves in the world of Asian animals! Right from the start, don't miss the information board with the QR code! There, after scanning the code, you can join a quiz in the app, which will make your visit even more interesting and allow you to remember interesting facts about the animals. At the end, after having solved all the riddles, you can win a surprise prize! For the little ones, it really is a great attraction. We saw a lot of very engaged children running around and looking for boards with information and riddles to solve. Garden of Lights are not only attractive for kids but also for adults of all ages because the installations are indeed very impressive! They are made really precisely and are particularly impressive when viewed from a wider perspective. What's more, the lighting effects are also accompanied by Asian music. In same parts of the Zoo even the sidewalk is illuminated! We can highly recommend this place for a date too, but it's worth going with your partner rather on a weekday, when you can avoid crowds.
Garden of Lights is certainly one of the most interesting attractions to see in Wroclaw in winter. A visit to this place is definitely worth combining with a walk along the Oder River. The area around the Wrocław Zoo and the Centennial Hall is more interesting in the summer when you can admire the shows of the Multimedia Fountain. In winter in Wroclaw, it is definitely worth going to the Market Square to see the Christmas Market if you want to feel the Christas vibe. We personally don't like crowds, so for lovers of quiet walks in the Old Town we recommend the Ostrów Tumski, which is much more mysterious and less crowded than in summer. Coming back to Illuminations, we also recommend Topacz Castle, where you can stay for the night. It is a wonderful place both in winter and summer. Topacz is definietely also worth seeing in winter because you can find there illuminations as beautiful as those in the Wroclaw Zoo! You can walk around Topacz Castle for hours, enjoying the fresh air and silence. In our opinion, the combination of a visit to Wrocław's Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island), the Garden of Lights at Wrocław Zoo, as well as a SPA and dinner at Topacz Castle, is a great plan for a winter weekend in Wrocław!
